Electrical Safety Inspections - Service Fuse Connections
As a follow up to the customer service fuse safety inspection that was undertaken in previous years, another safety inspection is planned for all customer service fuse connections.
The service fuse forms part of LHIB’s electrical supply system and as such requires ongoing monitoring. The purpose of these inspections is to ensure there has been no overheating or damage to this equipment due to customer load or loose cable connections.
These safety inspections will be undertaken during business hours, 8.30am to 4.00pm by LHIB’s relief Electrical Officer (EO), between Tuesday 4 March and Monday 17 March 2025 inclusive.
The inspection will require access to the customer’s property for a short visual check of the customer’s meter box, and a thermographic image of the service fuses to ensure no problems exist. There will be no loss of supply during this inspection. If any service fuse fault is found, arrangements will be made with the customer to isolate the service and replace the faulty equipment.
The EO will carry out the inspections systematically across the Island over the period. If you are happy for the EO to undertake the inspection at any time, you don’t need to do anything further.
If you would like LHIB to notify you prior to your service fuse inspection or schedule the inspection for a more specific time within the allocated dates, please contact LHIB on (02) 6563 2066, or email [email protected].
It is important for electrical safety to undertake these inspections to confirm the property’s service fuse connections are safe and reliable for future use. Your anticipated cooperation and assistance are greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions about the service fuse safety inspections, please do not hesitate to contact the relief EO on (02) 6563 2080 or LHIB Administration on (02) 6563 2066.
