African big-headed ant (ABHA) – Baiting update May 2025
LHIB will be undertaking targeted baiting of ABHA (Pheidole megacephala) within the period of 28 April to 12 May, weather and temperature conditions permitting.
Details on the Pesticide Use Notification Plan (PUNP) can be found in the previous Householder (released on 17 April 2025).
What you need to know:
- Timing: Baiting will commence within this timeframe, as soon as conditions are suitable, and will continue for a few days.
- Location: A clearly defined treatment area will be marked with signage 24 hours before baiting commences. Treatment will only be undertaken on public land within the settlement.
- Safety: Please stay clear of the signed areas, especially if you are with children or pets. Do not tamper with the markers.
