Lord Howe Island Board has an opportunity for a Ranger to work as part of the World Heritage team based locally and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment and provision of services to the community and visitors to beautiful Lord Howe Island.
This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day environmental operations undertaken by the Lord Howe Island Board to protect and conserve the Lord Howe Island Group World Heritage property, including the Permanent Park Preserve and settlement area.

About you
You will have the ability to work in a team environment to deliver agency programs with minimal supervision.
Essential requirements
- Associate Degree in natural resource management or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Experience in environmental/park management, including integrated pest species identification and control, risk assessment, community and environmental education and awareness programs and ecological restoration practices.
- Experience in project and financial management.
- Knowledge and ability to interpret state, federal and local government legislation and policies.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, proven skills and experience in public relations, liaison, and negotiation.
- Well-developed computer skills including demonstrated experience in the use and management of GIS and databases.
- Holder of a current motor vehicle driver's licence.
- Ability to obtain a boat licence, scientific diving certificate, ABBBS A-Class banding certificate, First Aid Certificate and NSW Firearms Licence and a willingness to participate in incident management.
