Lord Howe Island Board currently have an opportunity for Senior Manager Environment based locally and contributing towards the conservation of the natural environment, built assets and provision of services to the community and visitors to beautiful Lord Howe Island.
The Senior Manager will be fundamental in leading a diverse range of the Lord Howe Island Board’s functions including environment, biosecurity, world heritage programs, spatial services and data management, and environmental health and compliance programs.
While overseeing day to day operational requirements, the Senior Manager will ensure legislative compliance and government objectives are met through the provision of strategic advice and support to both the Chief Executive Officer and the Lord Howe Island Board’s Directors, to ensure the Board fulfils its responsibilities under the Lord Howe Island Act and other legislation.

Your tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience paired with extensive experience in a Senior Management role make you well equipped for this position. Through your confidence and leadership skills you’ll represent the organisation to a high standard and maintain positive relations with community members and local interest groups.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to the role or equivalent experience in planning or environmental management or related discipline with 10+ years post qualification experience including a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role.
