Survey on Rodent Eradication Project and biosecurity open now

A final report of the Rodent Eradication Program is under preparation. An important component of the report is to reflect on elements that could be improved for future LHIB projects, and eradication efforts in other parts of the world.

The community is invited to contribute to the ‘Lessons Learned’ by way of an anonymous survey on the 2019 Lord Howe Island Rodent Eradication Project (LHI REP) and the 2021 Rodent Response.

This survey is also an opportunity to provide feedback with regards to the ongoing biosecurity operations to keep the Island free of rodents and other non-native invasive species.

The 15-minute online survey is open here until Friday 2 August 2024.

Paper copies will be available at the LHIB Office and will be posted to those who receive householders via physical copy.

Your thoughts on these projects and actions are important and will be incorporated into a ‘Lessons Learned’ document which will enable the LHIB to improve practices, procedures, and operations into the future.

LHIB thank the community, staff, volunteers, contractors and advisory bodies involved in the project for your patience and support.
